- Changes to cards in the shop: Dynamic cost cards can now appear in any slot; no more duplicates
- Support cards visible in the card dialog
Details
This week, unlike the previous one, we focused more on gameplay logic rather than content. We didn’t add any new cards or mechanics, but instead focused on the shop, progress between battles and bug fixes.
Sideboard
The sideboard is a group of additional cards outisde of the current battle, that can be used to modify the basic 12-card deck on the Market screen. You can buy cards for the sideboard (by dragging them from the shop, just like adding cards to the deck), and you can also exchange them with cards from the deck. We introduced this mechanic because players in the early game struggled with strategy choices if a card with great synergy for a particular mechanic appears in the first few shops, but there isn’t a good combo card in the deck, you can buy it and place it in the sideboard.. This way, it won’t clutter your deck until you find a card that makes a powerful combo with it.
$5 Special Cards
The shop now has its first gambling option – by paying $5, you’re guaranteed to get a powerful or rare card. This is another way to encourage players to win as many locations as possible and earn money. We were inspired by a boy named Wirt from Diablo.
Accelerated Interval if the Turn Takes Too Long

After the last update, we received two bug reports about Poker [1][2] – when played in a location that fills up with copies of the card, it starts affecting its own copies (and sometimes other Pokers played in different locations), causing the opponent’s turn to last extremely long – we observed one case where it lasted over 5 minutes. In the current implementation, actions gradually speed up if they take too long. This should improve gameplay quality without breaking the readability of the log.
Dynamic Cost Cards & Duplicates
Cards with a "?" in place of a cost, use all available energy when played. We previously treated them all as 1-cost, but starting with this update, they can now appear in any slot. Additionally, if the shop offers more than 6 cards (which happens when winning 2 or 3 locations in the previous battle), the offered cards will not repeat.
Support Cards Visible in the Card Dialog
Some cards spawn other cards that are otherwise unavailable (such as Johny Alpha’s Placki or As Fortuna's Rhinos). Previously, there was no way to see what abilities these cards had before playing them. Now, they are visible in the details of the card that spawns them.
